Ceramic Christmas Tree
Ceramic Christmas Tree

My object is a ceramic Christmas tree with small lights that are put into holes to decorate the tree. It was made by my grandma back when she used to take pottery classes which was then given to my mom who now uses it to decorate our house for the holidays. My grandma has always been a creative person and she has made many things for my family and I over the years. Now we use these items to decorate our home for any occasion. When we decorate for Christmas the tree is kept in our dining room so when it comes time to eat Christmas dinner we are able to see the tree clearly. The tree is about 42 years old. This tree represents our religion and catholic faith, it shows our beliefs in Jesus and our perspective on his story. My ancestors are from Italy, Ireland and Poland and they moved in the early 1900’s. They moved for a better life and that’s what they received. This tree reminds me of my grandma because it shows me that not only can she make our house beautiful but she adds to the beauty of our family. That’s why the ceramic Christmas tree is so important to my family and religion because it reminds me of my grandma and how she will always be with me even when she isn’t.
