Molcajete
This molcajete is an important object in my family. It has been used in my family for 2 decades. It was brought from Mexico made from volcanic rock. Used for making salsa like salsa de rayado and salsa verde. The steps are boiling some green chili and some green tomate and garlic. Then you pour all the ingredients into the molcajete and start grinding them together. My family and I use the molcajete when we all gather together and make some beef fajita or a cook out. We put the salsa on our taco to give it more flavor. The taste of spiciness makes everything better. This molcajete reminds me of my family journey from Mexico to Texas. The molcajete has been used in my family for generations from all the way in Mexico, not this molcajete in specific, but the ones my grandparents have used. It reflects our culture, and how we have immigrated to another country, carrying our culture and cooking.
