In my family, the molcajete is more than just something we use to make salsa. It's part of our tradition, every time we have a family parties everyone comes together laughing, playing music, and cooking while someone is always using the molcajete to grind fresh ingredients. My parents and grandparents show us how to make it the right way, passing down what they learned growing up. Those moments make the food taste even better because it's not just about eating, its about spending time together and keeping our family tradition alive. As the parties get louder and more fun with music playing and everyone dancing together in the backyard. The molcajete is still being used making more salsa as people keep coming back for more food. My cousins and I take turns trying to use it even if we are not as good yet while the older family members laugh and help us learn. By the end of the night even when the food is almost gone, the memories we made together stay reminding us why these family gatherings mean so much to all of us.
