Minnow
Minnow
Minnow is our small-medium dog with mostly Australian cattle dog, Shiatsu and Beagle. Me and my sisters had been very persistent about adopting a dog for our entire lives. There were a lot of unexpected hurdles the past few years in my family and Minnow is always so unintentionally understanding.
Summer, 2022The sun was beating down on the city. I had been eating breakfast in my backyard when an older woman came outside from my neighbors house with their regular dogs, and another white dog riddled with black spots and messy hair. “Hello!” She says, waving. “Hi!” I wave back. “Who’s that?” I ask. “Minnow.” She said, as Minnow bolted around with the other dogs. “She’s a very sweet dog, lots of energy.” She admitted. “Oh yeah.” I said, going to greet the dogs. We learned she had adopted Minnow but her energy was too much and we ended up taking Minnow, right next door from where we got her.
Minnow has always been my family’s little sibling. Both my parents had pets as a kid but they had to adapt to not having a pet who roamed around outside all day. I have so many memories of taking her on walks and to dog parks and seeing her run and run. She is always there when you come home and so happy to go anywhere or do anything. It turns out that the unquestioning trust dogs give you is unlike anything most people have. Dogs don't see you as friends, they see you as family and never question their bond with you.
