Military notebook
My object is: military notebook. My family came from Colombia South America and moved to USA. The military notebook was printed for the armed forces in Colombia. It belonged to my father, Manuel Augusto Rengifo. He used this document for identification during his service in the Columbian army. I feel sadness for him, because in those years, the life in the military service was extremely hard, almost cruel and the treatment for the soldiers was terrible according to stories I heard. My father was in the army from 1936 to 1937 just before the second World War. Difficult years for many people around the world. He was lucky to finish his service in the armed forces by 1937. Then he married my mother Olga. From that union came two sons: my brother Humberto and me. He is living in Colombia and my parents passed away. This is the story of a notebook that came to my hands because my mother gave it to my wife and I have no idea that she kept it with her papers.
