My family does a lot on Hanukkah every year and with the menorah. The menorah was built by my great great grandfather. He came from Israel and I believe he came in 1905 .  I have no idea which class he rode in on the way to America. But we use the menorah he built to honor his memory and his past , and we would celebrate Hanukkah by gathering on the last day of it and eating together. The latkes were probably my favorite thing to eat on each of those days as my grandparents slowly lit the candles. However I myself never got to light a candle I was too young to be allowed to. The menorah was able to bring the family together for Hanukkah each year at my grandma’s house to celebrate with one another. It's been a while since we have been able to celebrate Hanukkah though, due to the pandemic and Hanukkah’s date changing every year. However with things slowly returning to normal we might be able to gather once again.
