me and my great-grandpa
This is my great-grampa, Max, but I used to call him poppy. He lived in Florida during the winters. For Christmas break every year, we would go to Boca to visit him. He had a bunch of stuffed animals with sound in them. When he died, he left me and my sister and a stuffed animal ladybug that said Happy Birthday whenever you would be at the foot of it. I don't know where it is when my parents took it after a week because we played it so much that the battery almost died. Also, he loved having chocolate. Whenever I went over to his house, he had chocolate muffins for me and him. That is why chocolate is my favorite flavor for any dessert. Sometimes, we just ate chocolate chips because we loved them so much. But before I was born, he served in World War II. I think he helped Jews get free from concentration camps. He used to show me his old uniform. In addition, he would tell us stories about how it was to travel with the army; they had to sit in the back of a cargo plane, and stories about what it was like to become a soldier in the US Army. He would always tell us to be grateful for the stuff we get becuse we have all the food in the world, but in the army, he got small rations of food and would be hungry so much. Unfortunately, he died when I was not that old, so it's hard to remember most things he told us.
