There is one object that my father values more than himself (not including his kids he obviously values us more ) is a mayan calendar. The calendar came from his hometown La Piedad Michoacan in Mexico and is one of the only ties he has with his birthplace after coming here to the States. He had these calendars way before I was born. When ever we move from place to place, he would always take precautions to keep these calendars from breaking. He even puts the calendars in safe places so that if an earthquake were to break out they would be safe and he won’t need to worry about them. One thing that I definitely know about my father is that values the Calendars because it’s the only thing that reminds him of his past. The calendars is just a nice reminder of where I’m from.
