My family on both my maternal and paternal sides have ancestry that dates back to the late 1800s in Ireland, however, our migration story really centers itself in Massachusetts. On my dad's side, my great-grandparents met in Newton, MA where they dated and eventually married moving to Braintree, MA. Here in Braintree my grandfather and his siblings were born where they eventually married and dispersed some still staying in Braintree. They later had children on their own including my dad, his siblings, and their cousins, most of them still in Braintree today, and others have moved to other parts of the country. On my mom's side, my great-grandparents were born in Everett, MA, and Chelsea, MA where they dated and married later moving to Everett. There they had my grandmother and her sisters, who grew up and eventually married in Everett, MA. My grandmother and grandfather moved to Dorchester, MA where they had my mom and her three siblings. After my mom reached elementary school, they moved to Braintree where they finished out high school. This is where my mom and my dad met, my dad was a year ahead of my mom in school. They eventually bought their first house in Braintree and had my younger brother and me, we still live here today.
