Marriage Certificate
My object is a marriage certificate from my great grandpa and grandma. It is dated Brooklyn, August 28th at 9:23 and it is used for proof of official marriage. It's made of paper and I think it's pretty cool that they were married in Brooklyn.
The reason why I chose it was because it's an important part of my heritage. It teaches me about where people of my heritage lived a while back. My mother’s side is Italian. I learned that my maternal great grandpa was a laborer and also my maternal great grandma was a candy maker. Those were the actual titles under occupation. It also has their addresses before they got married, which were not too far from where we live.
The comments I have for my ancestors would be that I attend school in the same place they got married, New York. My final thought about the object is that it is really cool and it's nice to learn about my ancestors.
