Lorenzoni Family Photo

This is a photo of my great-grandparents, Mickele and Virginia Lorenzoni with four of what will become twelve children. It dates to approximately 1910. They came from the province of Lucca, in Tuscany, Italy to New York City. Eventually, they moved to Kane, Pennsylvania, a small rural town where my great-grandfather worked in the lumber industry. With time, they became property owners and small farmers. Their property is still part of our family. It now houses a small cabin where we host family reunions and other gatherings. Growing up my father made it a point to teach my brother and I about your immigrant heritage so we knew where we came from and the sacrifices our ancestors made to start a life here in the United States.

Place(s): Kane, Pennsylvania
