Pesto Lasagna

This image is of lasagna, it shows/represents mom’s lasagna. The recipe has been passed down throughout generations. It came from my family in Italy to Chicago. From my great nonna Tina, to my nonna Barbara, to my mom, and (in the future) to me. I am Italian and therefore this lasagna is different from typical American lasagna. For example, it has bechamel and pesto. It is important to my family and I because whenever we go to Italy and we have our reunion, we always have lasagna. Everyone loves it, even my friends who are always jealous when I bring leftover lasagna to school for lunch. This can teach people that, even though I am generation 1, there are still Italian family traditions that I cherish very much. In conclusion, instead of looking at other people's cultural values, like certain objects and recipes, at face value, try to learn more and understand what the story is behind them.
