I choose this reminder because it is very important for Ecuador’s history as well as my family history. This is because it contains the “world” which demonstrates the continents we have migrated to in order obtain better opportunities. For example my parents migrated from Ecuador to New York in search for a “better life”, this is what most people migrate for. The souvenir also shows a pen which was one way for our ancestors to communicate with their love ones and remind them that they still care for them.
