My story is about my family Kilt. It is a Scottish garment that displays my family pattern which is called a tartan. The Kilt has a thick texture because it is a very good quality, and it consists of many different colors. The tartan is the plaid pattern which features the colors light blue, light green, black, red, and yellow. This pattern is something special created for my family who came from Scotland.
I first learned about this object when looking at photos from my parents' wedding. It represents my family heritage, but we don't all wear it. This object is something that my Dad wears to represent his family name. The Kilt was something given to my Dad because he is "ML." This object makes me think more about my identity, my family's past, and where we came from. One specific thing I learned from the Kilt is that my ancestors had spelled our last name differently than "ML."
I think this object is really special because it is something specific to my family that no other family has and it connects to the history of my family and where they came from.
