My object is a kiddish cup that my great grandfather used every shabbat. When he died, he passed it on to my father and now we use it every Friday night. Religion was always very important to my great grandfather because when he left his family to move to America, it was his only reminder of them. Religion is how my great grandfather stayed connected to his family, and it is now how we stay connected to him.
