My Great Grandfather, Joseph Kacere, immigrated from Lebanon in 1910 when he was just 25 years old.  He got the cross in 1915 when he got ordained into the Eastern Orthodox Church.  After my Great Grandfather died, the crucifix necklace was then passed down to my grandfather, Michael Kacere, who is still alive at age 95.  He has passed this necklace down to my family so we can know and remember him.  This cross is very important to my family because it reminds us about where my Great Grandfather came from and helps me to understand my true heritage.
