John Deere Gator
On my 3rd birthday, I had a party. I was obsessed with my grandparents' John Deere vehicles at the time, so my parents threw a John Deere-themed party. After the party, we drove to my grandparents' house where we would celebrate my birthday with family. When we arrived, my grandfather came got me & said that he had a present for me. I followed him out to our shed which I loved because of the giant riding lawnmower. He told me to wait outside while he pulled the lawnmower out. I was so fascinated watching him pull it out. As he pulled it out I saw a kid-sized John Deere Gator. I sprinted over to it, unplugged the battery, & tried to drag it out of the shed. My grandfather had to come help me. Once it was out of the shed, I hopped in the Gator & rode it out to the street. My grandfather yelled to not leave the driveway. I drove the Gator in circles for hours until it died. I ran & got my got my grandfather who helped me plug it back in. He said it would take hours to charge so I went inside to wait. I was so restless waiting for it to charge. After it finished charging, I drove it around the yard until dinner. I continued to ride my Gator until I was 9 & I couldn’t fit in the gator, so I gave my gator to my sister. Once she outgrew it, she gave it to my cousins & they are still riding it around to this day. This Gator has been a huge part of my childhood & has many memories of my family. If it survives, I hope to keep it & give it to my children or my cousin’s children.
