Jewelry from my grandfather
I remember when I was a child, my mom told me a story of my grandfather who was a big jewelry maker. In 1965 my grandfather traveled a lot around the world to sell the jewelry that he made. During his adventure,he met a lot of celebrities in Ivory Coast where he had a big shop called “Poupee d’or” meaning “The gold doll”. He used to make jewelry for the first lady of Ivory Coast. He made a very great necklace for my mom's wedding day. My mom has always liked her golden and shining rings, necklace and earrings, and would never take them off. My mom told me she still has that necklace and earring for when I get married. She will give me the necklace and the earring. Their jewelry pieces can mean so many different things to our family, but for my mom, it means that regardless of the years passing, we will still have that piece that was given to us and we plan on giving it forward to our kids. This represents my family because that reminds me my grandfather and is important to my family because it was very important to my grandfather.
