For as long as I can remember every Christmas my Mom has made jello cookies. These cookies kinda have the texture of play dough but are very nostalgic to me. It is made with sugar, Jello powder, flour, eggs, and shortening. It becomes a cookie once cooked. Before it's cooked you top it with more sugar with the bottom of a cup. It has the flavor of the jello when you eat it. Sometimes we would put frosting on them.
2 years ago I started to make them. “James, do you want to make the jello cookies?” said my Mom. This created another tradition for me during the Christmas season. Imagine the kitchen messy covered with flower. I'm feeling hungry as I’m baking. This has been what I’ve done for the past 2 years.
My family has a connection through food and family recipes. I enjoy baking and making food with my family. We love to go out to eat and spend time together.
