Our family obtained a necklace with a jade pendant from the Qing Dynasty. Jade is a traditional gem in China that represents health and fortune. The necklace, therefore, was of very high value. According to my mom, who currently owns the necklace, it was passed down from generation to generation for a very long time and is considered a family heirloom. It is believed to bring our family good luck and fortune. The necklace has also survived through a civil war and World War II. It is a great honor in our family to be entrusted with the necklace.
