Jade Bracelet

In Attire

Jane describes why her grandmother got her this bracelet from China:“Well this jade bracelet that my grandmother gave me, supposedly the older people…The older women, they wear it because they believe that if they were to fall, this would break their fall and protect them from getting hurt. So that’s they the wear it, and supposedly each color—there’s different shades—and supposedly the lighter ones protect you from heat. So if you have high blood pressure and stuff like that…It supposedly has some effect on it, but I don’t really know yet. So that’s the story behind it.”
