Italian Portrait
In our family, we kept a portrait of two girls that the mother of my deceased grandmother (my great grandmother) had once painted. My mom told me that the two girls in the picture represented my great grandmother as a child and possibly an old friend of hers from her childhood (we never knew who the second girl was, so we just assumed that she was her friend.) For generations, the painting has been passed on to my grandmother's sister, who had passed it to us for keep's sake. The painting was a sign that my great-grandmother was an artist. She had learned how to paint during most of her life, even before she immigrated from Italy with my great grandfather. In fact, some members from my family had been known to draw, with me being one of those members.
