My object is a hat from Ireland. We use it the block the sun from getting into our eyes and for style. Our culture uses it for symbolism because irish people made this kind of hat for workers and people who worked on fields. A lot of men from Ireland use it, especially builders. It’s made out of fabric or all different colors.

I chose it because It was passed down from my mom’s dad, who is named Noel, just like me. It teaches that my culture did a lot of work on tall buildings because it was used to block the sun out of our face, otherwise we would fall off because the sun is very strong. You often see Irish men wearing these caps to church and to fancy occassions as well.
This hat is very important to me and my family. It allows me to feel like I am in Ireland when I am not.
