This is our family crest. My cousin and uncle did some research on where our ancestors came from. We always knew some of the story, but not as much as we do now. While looking through an online genealogy website, we not only learned more about our family’s history, but also we discovered our family crest. In order to keep our connection to not only our ancestors, but with each other as well, we decided to bring back the usage of it. Everyone in my family has something with the crest on it. Most of us have hoodies with the crest as a patch just over our hearts, my sister and I have it on beanies, and my dad even has it on a hat. My mom and aunts have them too, because even if they’re not descendents with the crest, they’re still family. My uncle got married last summer and got a zip up hoodie with the family crest on it as a wedding present to his wife. The crest is important to my family and its history because it helps remind us of our ancestors. The crest represents our Irish heritage as well as our family in the United States.
