Hanukiah
This is a photo of a Hanukiah I have in my household. This Hanukiah is not only part of my Jewish culture but also my family culture. Back when my grandma was in her 30's she went to this artifact store where she found this Hanukiah. She had always loved it very much, my grandma loved collecting things, especially Hanukiahs. So when she found this one that dated back many years she was extremely happy. She had a shelf right by the door so that when you entered the house one of the first things you would see was her collection of Hanukiahs. I remember noticing this one in particular because I thought the design was very interesting. My father also loves this Hanukiah which is why when my Grandma passed away she gave it to him to continue passing down throughout generations of our family. Hanukiahs are a big part of the Jewish culture because they are what is used to count down the days of Hanukah one of the biggest Jewish holidays, my favorite holiday. The story of Hanukah is when the Jews only had a little bit of oil left to light the candle for light because there was no electricity. The smallest amount of oil lasted for 8 days which was a major miracle for the Jews because that small amount of oil wouldn't last for 8 days. Jewish culture and Israeli culture are very important to me because my parents were both born in Israel and most of my family lives there. I take pride in being an American-Isreali Jew.
