Every Eid many muslim families make different food which might be important traditional to them. This includes Maamoul, Cambaab, Sheer khurma, Doro wat, Lokum, and Tufahija. My family's traditional dish is Haleem. Haleem is a popular in South Asia, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Loved by millions, it consists of a savory, slow-cooked stew or porridge made with meat, lentils, and wheat. The way my family cooks it in Pakistan is you start a fire on the street with wood and lighter fluid. Next we take a huge pot about 2-3 feet tall and a big wooden spoon. My family is really big so we need a lot for everybody. Everybody stands outside and spends all day mixing, running in and out of the house too, getting ingredients and tasting it to see if it has enough salt or spice. This dish brings joy to every person in my family and they all eat surrounded by each other. After working all day slaving away over a giant hot stove my family has a dish made with love and Harmony, a perfect dish that can be enjoyed at the dinner table with either naan or roti or straight. It’s good in any way.
