Guatemalan Quetzal Bill
The quetzal is the money basis for the Guatemalan economy, not to be confused with the Quetzal which is the national bird. Several years ago there was a 0.50 cents bill, but around the 80’s it was discontinued. In current time there are Q.1, Q.5, Q.10, Q.20, Q.50, Q.100, and Q.200 bills. Each bill has a different person and describes his influence to the country . My family is Guatemalan and this money is still used in Guatemala in current time. We conserve the bills so if one day we return to the country for any reason, we can use it for ourselves or with the rest of my family.
