Great-great-great-grandparents
My great-great-great-grandmother Clemencia was from Valencia, Spain, and my great-great-great-grandfather Xavier was from Northern Morocco. They met in Granda, Spain, where my great-great-great-grandmother was studying. They fell in love and got married. After they got married, Clemencia did not want to move back to the large farm her parents owned, so she moved to Corsica with Xavier to run a hotel. They ran that hotel for several years and then had the opportunity to move to Puerto Rico. At the time, I believe Puerto Rico was a colony of Spain. Spain was trying to get people to Puerto Rico, so they were given a land grant. They settled in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised their family. My great-grandfather, also named Xavier, came to NY in the 1950s on a boat, Marine Tiger. My grandfather was born in the Bronx, NY.
