This wedding ring belonged to my great-great-grandfather. He was born in Elk River, north of the Twin Cities, in the 1890s. He was fully Swedish because both of his parents were born in Sweden. He would have most likely gotten this ring around 1955, as that was the year he had his second marriage. This object is important to me for two main reasons. The first reason is that I am personally named after him because my mother knew him well. The second reason is that my mother personally said to me that she would give me the ring one day. My great-great-grandfather was born to Swedish immigrants in Minnesota and is the only ancestor I know of that was born to immigrants, so it would be interesting to know more about his life as a son of migrants.
