Story pending

This chair belonged to my great-great-grandfather. He was born in Brahilov, Russia (near Kiev) on the last day of Hanukkah in 1889. Since my family did not know his English birthday, he celebrated it on the last day of Hanukkah, making it different every year. When he died, my grandma’s sister took the chair. Her and her three siblings were all very close to their dad (my great-great-grandfather), so the chair was a connection that she could keep. When she got sick with breast cancer and had to leave Washington DC and move back in with her parents (my great-grandparents) in Connecticut, she could not bring the chair with her. She told my mom that she would get the chair reupholstered for her and that my mom could even pick the new fabric. My mom got the chair in about the year 2000. The chair is a connection for my mom to both her aunt and her grandfather. Sadly, my great-great-grandfather, the chair’s original owner, died when my mom was 16 at age 102. The chair still sits in our apartment. One day, one of me and my siblings will take the chair with us as we move forward in life and continue to pass it down to our next generation.
