Oregano, homemade sauce, and dough: all wonderful ingredients for my family’s one-hundred-year-old pizza recipe. My great grandma’s pizza recipe from across the ocean in Italy is one of many beautiful treasures of my family. My grandma on my dad’s side is Italian. The pizza was so amazing that people in the neighborhood would visit for my great- grandma's pizza. This pizza has a crust with tomato sauce and seasoning. I would make this pizza with my grandma and hopefully, its legacy lives on for being one of many foods she would make. This dish connects to my Italian culture on my dad’s side, showing the heritage that belongs to my family. My grandma’s family is from Pignataro Maggiore in Italy. Food and family surround this pizza recipe. It is a memory and tradition that should always be cherished in my Italian family.
