This item is a chain and L’chaim which was passed down to me when my grandpa died. The meaning of this from hebrew is to life and it represents the importance of life. My great grandfather got it as a gift for my grandpa when he turned 40 and he wore it every day. Before he died he gave it to my mom to give it to me which is why it is so important to me. I wear it often except to school because I don't want to lose it. It represents my identity of being jewish and it is a very important part of my family and means a lot to my mom as well because it was her dad. The chain itself was also passed down from my grandpa which I do wear every single day. Overall it is very important to me and reminds me of my jewish heritage and who i am.
