Grandmother’s wedding ring

Group:

My personal object is my grandmother’s wedding ring. She gave this to my mom before she passed, when I was about three-four years old. I don’t remember too much about her because I was so young, but I remember the stories that I was told about her, and how much she loved me and was excited to get to know me when I was born. This object does not represent my family’s cultural identity, but it represents our family history, and the importance of family to my mom and dad. My family story may be unique because both my grandmother and grandfather migrated from another country, but they come from very different roots. My Italian grandmother, and Hungarian grandfather never would have met if they didn’t come to America. This story probably relates to other family stories in the sense that many other families also have objects that were from the parents or grandparents, that were passed down to them.
