About a year ago my grandma sent me a pair of earrings. Because my grandma lives in a different state than me, and I don’t get to see her much, it always makes me really happy whenever she sends me anything. I remember my mom telling me that something had come and that it was from my grandma. I was immediately intrigued as to what it could be and opened the package. Inside the box was a little green pouch carrying a pair of silver earrings. They are a series of intricate flowers that are weaved together like a wreath. She sent a little note saying that she bought them from a little market when she was young and wanted me to have them. My grandma told me that she got them while traveling around the USA, and wore them every day. My object doesn’t carry any cultures from my past but it reminds me of family and being with the people I love. Whenever I wear them I am reminded of being around my grandma and all of the things we do together.
