grandma's bracelets
My grandma and my great grandmother love giving her children and grandchildren jewelry from Cambodia. They collect them and save them for birthdays and special occasions to give to us. For my birthday she gave me seven gold bracelets, and reminded me not to lose these, because when I was little she always gave me jewelry but they would always come loose or break. She trusted me eventually now that I am older. The bracelets were beautiful, they felt good to wear, something I can say is from my grandmother. My family members immigrated to the United States from Cambodia, during the Khmer Rouge. They came here with nothing, so now here in the present day for our grandparents' birthdays, we love to give back to them and come together to give them jewelry, money, scratch tickets, and more.
