This is a grandfather clock that my grandfather made. He has always been very good with tools and has made carpentry one of his many hobbies after his retirement. He worked as an engineer/inventor in the packaging industry in Minnesota, but moved to Chicago with his family. His creations, which include clocks, cabinets, beds, and chairs, are gifted to almost every member of my extended family, so each household ends up with at least one piece from him somewhere in their home. His industrious attitude has likewise spread to all of his children and grandchildren and I am very grateful to have such a great example of his artistry and hard work in my life.
