My family tradition is that everyone in my family has gone to college. My family is my mother, my father and my sister. My mother, Joy H. Jackson, was born in St. Louis, MI, and raised in Little Rock, AR. She graduated from Parkview HS in 1986. She initially went to school to be a Courtroom Stenographer. The school shut down before she finished. My parents married and moved to Minneapolis. She attended Moler Barber School. She graduated in April, 1999. My mother and Aunt opened their 1st Salon in October, 1999. They have been doing business for 19 years. My father, Timothy L. Jackson Sr, was born down south in Greenville, MS, but was raised west in CA. In 1993, my father went back down south, after graduating from Paramount HS in 1993. He started college at Philander Smith in Little Rock. A few years later, he married my mother in 1996, and moved to Minneapolis, MN where he finished college, graduating from Metropolitan State University, 2012 with a Masters of Divinity degree from Lutheran Seminary. My sister, Timira L. Jackson, was born and raised in Minneapolis. She went to Loring Elementary. In the summer of 2010, my mother decided to homeschool her and me. It lasted for about a year and a half. She moved onto Excell Academy For Higher Learning. After Excell Academy, she moved onto DeLaSalle HS. She graduated in 2018. She will spend her next 4 years in college, potentially 3 years, and is currently attending Philander Smith College, in Little Rock. Me, TLJ II is "Next Up"!
