Golden Ring
My name is Ernst Bernadel Jr and i am Haitian. Haiti is a Caribbean country that shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic to its east. Though its still recovering from a 2010 earthquake, many of Haiti landmarks dating to the early 19th century remain intact. These include Citadelle la Ferriere, a mountain top fortress, and the nearby ruins of Sans-Souci Palace, the baroque former home of King Henry I. Haiti is best known for Haitian patties, Haitian patties is like a bread with beef inside of it, it tastes really good in my opinion and many others. Many Haitians take the religion Christian or catholic and travel with churches to other churches. When it’s Christmas Eve many Haitians would go to church at the time of 10pm-3am to celebrate Jesus. When it’s New Year’s Haitians would make soup joumou. Bunnon is a plantain that is flattened up but kinda sweet. It is one of my favorite Haitian dish, it's kinda sweet but it still tastes good no matter what. My mom makes it on every special events. The object that i have chose is the golden ring. My grandpa gave my dad his golden ring because he became a man. You get the ring after you get married. If you go over 10 years in a marriage you will get the ring. The ring is suppose to mean that you are a man and you haven't made a failure in your life. I will be the next one to get the ring in my family. Then i would have to carry it on to my son and it would go on and on.
