An ox that represents the Chinese zodiac

My object is a gold ox that represents the year of the ox in the Chinese Zodiac. It was bought by my grandparents in China and brought to New York by my uncle or grandparents. Since I was born during the year of the ox they gave me the statue that represents the ox. The gold ox is important to our culture because it represents the year I was born and the Zodiac Animal I have. This object is important to me because its one of the only connections I have with my grandparents in China. I don’t see them often, so I value this item. The ox is also partially plated with pretty cool gold. In Chinese culture, gold represents power and wealth. While the ox represents the idea of responsibility and stability which are two things that I need to focus on. The statue of the ox helps me realize the sacrifice that went into my family coming to America. The ox is the second animal in the Chinese zodiac after the rat and before the tiger. There are twelve different animals in the Chinese zodiac including the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon snake horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. These animals each represent important parts of the human life. It is also believed that the Chinese zodiac animal you get influences the personality you have. Since this item was given to my family when I was born it has a lot of sentimental value to me.
