German Beret Pin
My object is a German Beret Pin. The pin has a wreath of leaves and there is a wrench going through a gear along with the German flag underneath on the bottom of the wreath. It’s use is to connect to a hat or beret to signify what unit the person is apart of. This pin traveled across the ocean from Germany to the United States. My dad told me the story of this pin and how it became his possession. He was in the United States Army stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, and the U.S Army was training with the German Army for a year and a half. Once his time was up in Germany, the Americans and Germans each traded something to remember each other and the experience. This story is important to me because of how fascinating an experience it was to train with another country’s Army.
