Fur Coat

In Attire

This coat belonged to my great grandmother. She was born is Kamsack, Saskatchewan, Canada on a farm. It can get pretty cold in Kamsack especially when you are working all day outside. She bought a fur coat so that she could keep warm and also look nice when she was going to nice places. The coat is made out of mink fur, which is really soft. The immigration part of this story takes place when her son, or my grandfather immigrated to the U.S. for work. He eventually became a citizen here. My mom and her sister would go see my great grandmother 2-3 times a year. She eventually gave this fur coat to my mom who then gave it to me and my brother.
