Framed Picture Of Jesus
The framed picture of Jesus on the cross was the only thing my dad brought over from Dominican Republic. The only he thing he has from home. He has been in the United States for 18 years and he has yet to go back. The one thing that reminds him to keep striving, no matter how hard it is. He didn’t come here to struggle. My dad doesn’t go to church as often, but he does pray. He prays to this picture everyday. This framed pictured represents his faith, we’re a catholic family. My family’s story is unique because this picture has traveled a lot. It has been in my family before I was even here. When my dad first got here to America he brought it everywhere he went. From Texas, to New Hampshire, to Boston and then to Lowell. This connects to other stories because i know other families have an “ancient” object or an object that has been passed around in their family. Coming here as an immigrant you are really limited. Especially limited to what you could bring.
