Family Tree

Group:
the 2nd generation of my family
the 2nd generation of my family

My object is the family tree by uncle created a couple years ago. I first saw it when I went to a family get together a couple years ago and have been fascinated by it ever since. It was made up of giant pages laid out on picnic tables for everyone there to see.  The official online document is 200 pages long and goes back 20 generations in my family, giving descriptions of different relatives lives and stories. My oldest known relative was Joerge Loetzsch who was born in 1456 in Grünhain, Schwarzenberg, Zwickau, Sachsen, Germany and died in Walthersdorf, Annaberg, Chemnitz, Sachsen, Germany. Though this document isn’t necessarily a very  physical object, its what a feel most ties me back to my family and personally story. Many people don’t know their roots or story and never get the opportunity to find out, so I think its really cool that I get to know such an in depth history of where I came from and how I came to be where I am today
