My Father's Family

My object is a photograph of my father’s family who are from Brazil. My grandparents have seven sons, and seven daughters, and they now have thirty grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. My grandparents are very special to me. However, my grandfather is dead.I have many of memories of him planting fruit trees for the children on our farm in Brazil, so the picture helps me remember him. The photograph also reminds me of when I would go to my grandparents’ house for Sunday lunches in Brazil. We would always pray before we ate, and some of my family is from Italy so we would often make polenta. I really like how the picture reminds me of how wonderful my family is. The only family that I have here is my husband. He came to America in 2016, and I came later in March of 2017. I left the rest of my family in Brazil, so the photograph sometimes makes me sad. I miss them. I would like to go back to visit them at some point. The photograph reminds me of lots of good times that I had with my family, so it is very important to me.
