Family Heirlooms
The ring is my great great great grandmother's wedding ring. This ring has been passed down to my grandmother and my grandmother gave it to her daughter which is my mom. The bracelet was also my great great great grand mother's which will be passed down to my mom by her mom. The spoons go even farther back. My great great great great grandmother gave those spoons to her daughter, which gave those spoons to her daughter. The spoons eventually made there way to America when my great grandmother arrived to America from Guyana in 1975. My great grandmother would have lots of big dinner parties and she used the spoons in all of her parties. When she got older, she stopped throwing those big parties and gave the spoons to her daughter, my grandmother. My grandmother keeps them safe until it is time to give them to her daughter, my mom. My great great great grandmother never came to America, she was afraid of flying but her daughter did, which is my great grandmother, and was able to bring my grandmother and her family, which is my mom. I haven't been to Guyana yet, but I can't wait to go so I can learn more and see where my mom was born.
