Family Ancestry Book
The book in the picture is a genealogy of my family's history that was done in the 1930s which traces the family back to the 1600s in some cases. My grandfather owned a copy of the "The Book" as it was known in my family and now I also have a copy.
When I was in college I studied abroad in Nottingham, England. As I walked around downtown, I always noticed a church called St. Peters' and I took a photograph of it one day (also in the photo). I never actually went inside, but I always wanted to. A few years later, I was looking through the book and I found the entry for John Conklin and his family which read, "John Conklin came to America, from Nottinghamshire, England with his wife, Elizabeth Allseabrook, who he married at St. Peter's, Nottinghamshire, Jan 24, 1625."
It's amazing to think, I was in the same area where my ancestors were from, and I had no idea!
