My object I have chosen to use for this project is a picture of my ancestor. the picture was painted in the 1800s when they were traveling to New Orleans. I connect this picture to Thanksgiving because it is in our dinning room where we always tell the stories behind it. This picture is so important to my family and I because it is so old and it is the only thing we have that shows us who our ancestors were and what they did. It has to do with death, travel, life, and love. My ancestor's name was Thomas and he had a wife, three girls and one boy. They sailed on their ship from Liverpool England to Philadelphia and New Orleans. His three daughters died form yellow fever when they got to New Orleans. The son lived a very long life and thats how I am here today. Thomas and his wife and son lived into New Orleans for many generations. His great, great, great, great grandchildren moved from New Orleans around to Oklahoma. That describes my family because it has many stories behind it.
