Fake Thanksgiving
In 1621 the pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving as a way to celebrate the New World. And every year we celebrate Thanksgiving as a thanksgiving as a thank you to everything good in our life. My family does it a bit different from other people. We celebrate Fake Thanksgiving. It’s held on the first Saturday before Thanksgiving. It is always held at my house and everyone in my family comes over. Even my cousins from Colorado. We celebrate it like a normal Thanksgiving but we add a few things from our Scottish and Italian heritage. We always have stuffed shells, scotch pies, and Scottish shortbread. There is also a giant Knock hockey tournament with our own custom table and trophy. The tradition has been going since 2008. It started because my family was never around for regular Thanksgiving because of Hockey and soccer tournaments. I hope the tradition will continue for years to come.
