I think that the part of this story that really stood out to me was the actual way they got here. At that time that my parents migrated to America it was difficult for them because they were considered too young. At that time they were 25 years old and on their way here they had to go through hard obstacles like spending days walking through the desert. They and a few other immigrants spent about 3 days in the desert drinking water they could find, not to mention it was unsanitary. But it was what they had although it is a better reason why they are happier as of today because me and my siblings did not have to go through this type of experience. This is a part that helped me appreciate them and also helped open my eyes to the fact that my parents did not have the best journey but they didn’t stop and were full of hope. They stayed strong and stayed confident which are traits that they carry with them. They did accomplish their dream and I’m proud because of it.
