My family heirloom is a ring. This ring is the "engagement" ring of my family. My great great grandpa proposed to my great great grandma with this ring in 1919. Since then, the men that plan to propose to the women in my family use this ring as the engagement ring. This ring has gone to my great great grandma. My great grandma, my grandma, and my mom. When the time is right in my life, I will get engaged with the same ring. My great great grandmas name is actually carved on the inside of then band. This ring has gone to many generations and hopefully many many more.
